I Love This Thing!
Wish I had know about this before. It is well made and fits over your bathtub and clamps tight so it won’t slip. You don’t need any tools to install it. I am 75 years old and have a bum knee and I was afraid to stand up in the shower because I didn’t have anything to hold onto. I put it next to my toilet and it helps me to sit down and get back up. I closed my shower curtain all the way like I was going to take a shower and cut a horizontal slit in my shower curtain and slipped it over the rounded top of the bar so I could hold it while taking a shower and it works great! I also purchased a suction handle that fits onto the wall to hold onto while getting in and out of the tub. I have both of them to help me and I feel much safer taking a shower. I recommend this product.

Top Notch Secure Bathtub Bar That’s SO Easy To Attached
My plumber was her installing a new tub for me. I’m 71 and have a bad back and knees so taking a shower or stepping into a tub can be a painful experience. I had a basic tub installed with a sliding shower to adjust height. I planned on stepping into the tub and sitting on a stool while taking a shower or soaking my feet. Stepping into the tub was a little uncomfortable for me. The plumber had me hold his arm and step into the tub so he could measure where the two security bars he was going to install should be attached for optimum support. When we were done he suggested I go to Amazon (he knew I shopped here) to look for this Bathtub bar and a step up bathroom step. When I brought the choices up he said this one was the one he highly recommended. I knew I could send it back if there as a problem so I had nothing to lose. Great choice. This is a VERY secure bar that easily clamps on to the side of your tub. My husband had it out of the box and attached to the tub in less than 5 minutes. Let me tell you…it clamps on TIGHT and give you a great feeling of security. I also purchased a “Bath Step by Vive – Safe Step Bathroom Aid for Entering & Exiting Bathtub – Nonslip Bathtub Step Reduces Risk of Injury”. It’s 20″ X 16″ X 4″ high. Let me tell you stepping up just those 4 secure inches before stepping into the tub makes so a wonderful difference. This two items belong together. Great recommendations from my plumber!!!! I have a stool in my tub too so I can stand or sit depending on how I feel that day.I highly recommend this bathtub bar for stability getting in and out of the tub.

Sturdy; perfect aid for stepping in/out of tub
After having this on our tub for two years now, I still give it 5 stars when used as intended: Very sturdy product made of strong ‘metal’, not plastic; I was expecting a lightweight metal or plastic, but this is very substantial; also, after 2 years of daily use it has not shown any rusting at all. It clamps onto the side of our standard fiberglass tub firmly and is perfect for a ‘help’ stepping in or out of the tub, or for steadying yourself. It will be situated behind the shower curtain, so it’s not really easy to grab when you’re inside the tub & the curtain is pulled – a grab bar inside the shower would be needed for that – but it is perfect as an aid to step in and out of the shower/tub. I wouldn’t recommend it for supporting your entire weight, except in a dire emergency, as it is not designed for that. The way our tub and toilet are situated next to each other it can also be used as a help up from the commode if needed. Product literature advises to check the tightness of the clamp before each use, and also be sure not to over tighten (this clamp is strong enough to crack fiberglass). Perfect for older people or anyone with a leg injury, etc. who need to steady themselves.

Finally, a Great Solution to an Old Problem!
Finally, a solution to balance challenges in the bathtub. In the past, I’ve made the mistake of ordering suction cup handles that simply invited disaster. After my first fall, I lost hope of ever getting a handrail without having it professionally installed.UNTIL, I saw the Medline Bathtub Safety Rail on amazon.com. What can I say? The product is fabulous. Upon taking it out of the box, I noticed that it was heavy…not unbearably so but nice and sturdy. Imagine when I discovered it was actually made out of STEEL and not plastic. The item comes with simple directions although, honestly, I didn’t even have to refer to them because it was easy and took just a minute, maybe less than a minute, to install it. The company does advise that if you have a bathrub that is not straight sided, you will not be able to use this item.Lucky for me, I have an old bathtub circa the 60’s so I simply loosened the knob, opened the bracket, slipped it over the outer edge of the tub and then tightened the knob until it was secure. I tested it and it is absolutely perfect. The finish is white and blends in easily and is not distracting in the least. In fact, when I draw my shower curtain, you can’t even notice it. It does not jut out in the least.Almost anyone could safely install this and, at this ridiculous price of $20.90, it’s a steal of a deal.

This adjustable steel bar anchors solidly to my tub edge for amazing support at the right height. No sway or give to it and itâs welded tube construction will last a lifetime. Looks great too! Far superior to my old and unstable plastic bar.

This is great. Secures to the tub easily and stays in place. It is a blessing for getting in and out of the tub.

This product should be in every seniors home as far as I’m concerned! We bought it for our 90 year old mother, should have bought it 10 years ago for her!! All it takes is one tumble in the tub and life could change so dramatically! So easy to install but should be tighten by someone with younger to ensure it doesn’t move! Nice product,if you haven’t bought one for your parents or thinking of buying one for yourself, do it! You won’t regret it at all…

This works extremely well. Very easy to install. Takes about three minutes. The only little drawback, and this is mentioned in the information notes sent with the item, is that the handle can be quite slippery when wet. A piece of that stick-on strip for the bottom of bath tubs wrapped around the top of the handle makes an easy fix for that though. I find it a safe way to support ones self getting in and out of the shower/tub. It is quite sturdy and will allow a person to feel confident and safe again while getting in or out of the tub. I had a visitor drop in the other week, saw how it works and now is ordering their own unit. That, right there must say something about the product!
