Great phone!
Short review: this phone is great if you live with someone who wears hearing aids or has significant hearing loss.Longer review:My wife and I have been searching for a new house phone since our trusty vtech finally called it quits. My wife has pretty severe hearing loss and as a result wears powerful hearing aids in both ears. Because of this finding a new phone has been fairly problematic. Her hearing aids have a “telecoil” setting that’s supposed to make them work better with phones. If the phone supports it, she claims that it makes a lot of differnce.Herein lies the problem, you don’t know if the phone works with her hearing aids until you test it out. We have tried a lot of cordless phones marketed towards people who are hard of hearing and most of them just amplify the heck out of the sound at the cost of voice clarity.Worse still, most use cheap or substandard amplifiers that actually cause problems with my wife’s hearing aids. She says they “buzz” which doesn’t surprise me given how they are achieving the high decibel rating.Desperate to find a phone I started scouring amazon once again. Most of the other phones I had purchased before were in the $50 range which, while expensive for a cordless phone was less than the more expensive phones Like This one. I finally decided to suck it up and buy this phone by clarity. The reviews were mostly positive and it seemed like a quality phone. It arrived on time and was packaged well. We hooked it up in place of our current phone and tried it out.My wife says that this phone works flawlessly with her hearing aids. Best of all since the phone supports the telecoil mode, we don’t really have to turn it up that loud. That being said, this phone can get ridiculously loud. The ringer and earpiece can both be set to loudness settings that might scare the bejees out of you in the middle of the night if you forget to set it to a lower volume (like me.) There are also multiple tone settings that are really great at improving the voice quality. The phone also supports another feature that I didn’t even know I wanted: the base itself had a battery. If the power goes out, you can still use this phone! Most cordless phones become paperweights during power outages, so you have to hope that you cell phone still works, which it might not. Or you have to keep a hold of the wired phone “just in case.” This phone worked fine during a power outage we got shortly after I installed the phone. I didn’t even know about the base battery until then!As for the other features, this phone is pretty standard fair. It has a call history and address book. It has speakerphone and lights up when you call it.Most of the “expensive” stuff had obviously been put into making a phone with superb voice quality and I can tell you that it’s not wasted. If your looking for a phone that has all of the features of a high end cell phone, this isn’t what you want. But if you want a good solid phone that’s easy for you or a loved one to hear on, this phone is worth the extra expense.

Works well so far
I bought this for my mother who is hard of hearing. Several years ago I purchased a similar one of the same brand, an older model. She loved the last one and it finally stopped working. So from previous experience with the latter,I bought this. I like the sound quality, the incoming number feature, which both through voice and display is very convenient, programing it is typical of almost all phones, a bit of a learning curve. Have only had it for a few months, so far so good.

Low vision user
I’m using Siri to write this since my vision stinks 🙂 please excuse any strange words or phrases. I purchased this because of the constant barrage of garbage phone calls that were coming in on my house phone and I always felt guilty when I didn’t answer it now this announces out loud who’s calling or if it’s anybody who I might wanna talk to it’s made my life a lot easier. I have found that the same company is calling me 3 to 5 times a day over and over and over again, even though our government could stop this they choose not to, but I don’t have to be talking to these crazy people 🙂 it’s been well worth the investment it’s made my life a lot less Stressful not answering the phone, but it is also been good that it works as well as it does, thank you so much for this. It was well worth purchase.Thank you for taking the time to read my review. Have a great day.

Easy to Use, Easy to Hear, Attractive, but doesn’t withstand the test of time
This phone is perfection. It announces the calls, has clear and loud amplification. The buttons are big, the phone lights up when it rings and when you dial, it announces the numbers you are pressing. It has a very clear caller ID display. I have mine mounted on my kitchen wall and it fits the standard plate and mounting screws. This is a wonderful phone for all. It stores numbers in a phone book and does everything a phone should do plus it has all of the features needed by people who have either a hearing or visual impairment. It is very comfortable to hold and ergonomically designed.I originally gave this a 5-star review, but after using it since February 2013. I am sad to report that the batteries wear ou in less than a day. I even have an extra set of rechargeable batteries in a charger ready for when the phone dies on me. Today two important phones calls were lost because the batteries died in the middle of placing an order for gifts and then in the middle of discussions about my homeowner’s and auto insurance.I called the company and they said they were sending me some new batteries. I think this will not solve the problem and am really sad that this phone tuned out to be unacceptable after such a short period of time, but just long enough for the warranty to expire. I updated my review on June 30, 2014. My initial review that was favorable was written in March 2013.

I purchased this phone for my mother who is 74 and wears a hearing aid. She loves it! I used it a few times and for my ears it can get pretty loud; in addition, the speakerphone is nice and loud too. The displays and buttons are large enough, without looking like a Fisher Price toy lol. Another excellent design is the “ear cup”. Yes, it is not a basic ear phone “hole” which is hard to position by elderly with hearing aids… it is an actual “ear cup” which is large enough to fit completely over the ear and hearing aid. Very good phone!
