Cats love it
My 2 geriatric cats love this. One of the very few supplements I can get them to eat. I mix it with a treat and they lick the bowl clean. When I have been able to give it to them 2 x a day, they drink less water than if they don’t get it. Yes there have been a few times that I have missed giving them their supplements. I have noticed a little less peeing too. Their appetites are improving and so are their attitudes.Standard Process has been around a long time and has an excellent reputation. Having used their human supplements I know what I can expect from using them. This product I think is really helping my aging cats.

Excellent Results
My 16-year-old Savannah (half African Serval and half Egyptian Mau) cat has had chronic UTIâs for several years. I started giving this to her about 4 months ago. For the last year her kidney values were deteriorating slowly. After having her on this about 4 months her kidney values actually improved and sheâs not had the first UTI! She is currently on Palladia, a chemo drug for adenocarcinoma, a very aggressive and incurable cancer. She is also on Dr Mercolaâs mushroom complex which I started about 5 weeks ago. She has lived 3 months beyond her best case prognosis of a year and is thriving. Her appetite is good, she still plays sometimes, and sheâs social and engaged in life. You could never know she is 16 as her coat looks glossy and healthy and her eyes are bright and sheâs in no pain. She is being treated by the University of Florida Vet School where they have decided to monitor her even more closely for research purposes due to her surviving this aggressive cancer for this long, because itâs rare for her to survive and still be thriving at this point. She was diagnosed in December 2021 after an emergency surgery where they found a cancerous mass in her intestine which was removed. I believe this supplement has helped her tremendously and my regular vet is on board with it as well. I will keep giving this to her. I crush it and add it to her canned food with water. Iâm very happy for this success and having found this supplement. I had her on Dr Mercolaâs Bladder Support for almost a year and it effected no change so I tried this and it works!

I know it’s not going to cure kittie’s CKD but I think it’s slowing down the progression. He likes the taste, but he likes temptations better, so I have to mix it in.

Look at the phosphorus (min) level!
I understand that the primary causing factors and subsequent treatment approach is still a hotly debated topic. However if I recall correctly all sides (low protein vs high qual protein) agree that phosphorus levels should be at a minimum. Even the VCAhospital website says the following:Phosphorus. Limiting dietary phosphorus in cats with CKD appears to help delay the progression of CKD, although the precise mechanism is unknown. It also serves to reduce the effects of renal (kidney) secondary hyperparathyroidism. The recommended phosphorus range on a dry matter basis for cats with CKD is 0.3-0.6%. Since phosphorus content is related to protein content, it is impossible to achieve these lower levels of phosphorus without limiting protein content.This is correct. Regardless of what your believe, I am confused as to how this supplement supports kidney health with CKD when all the other foods you are feeding him/her are trying to minimize it as much as possible to the point of lowering the protein content. I posted this question on this listing, hoping an expert could advise, but strangely it got deleted.

Palatable for cats
Purchased because two of my 9 year old cats were diagnosed with kidney disease, though it has not progressed much yet. Donât know if this will help down the line, but the supplement and brand seem trustworthy. Itâs easy to give them one with each meal, they eat it easily like a little treat
