Very reliable device for balance and/or safety
I’ve had one of these for over 5 years though that one is not as long as this new one and is used at the entry to the bathtub. I wanted another one that I might hold onto while standing in the shower or, God forbid, grab onto if I fell. They’re very reliable. Every 2 or 3 months I grab the handle and jerk on it hard just 2 or 3 times. If I feel any movement at all I simply hold the handle where it is and open and close the 2 clips. It takes less than 20 seconds. I re-secure it once or twice each year. Better safe than sorry and it’s very easy. I’m pretty sure I would’ve had undesirable results were that handle not in place and this new one should notch up the safety factor even more! I’ve also bought one of these handles for an aunt and a for a 74 year old friend and they love them.As a quirky aside, these handles work wonderfully to secure refrigerators/freezers in RVs as they bounce down the road at a level 4.5 earthquake daily. Refrigerator doors often pop open in transit leaving a high holy mess. You can secure the side-by-side doors (aka French doors) by sticking one end of the handle on each door. Works perfectly and is so easy. It saves a lot of grief…who knew? Any other RVers out there?

Don’t follow their instructions
I followed directions, and my grab bar fell off 3 times in the afternoon. I was going to return it. Then I read another review, where the person said it worked great if you don’t follow the company’s instructions. (Look for his review.) The person said instead to wash your shower wall, wash the suction cups on the grab bar with soap and water, steam up your shower, then apply the grab bar. Well guess what? It has been 22 days and the grab bar is still sticking to the wall! It hasn’t fallen off once. So, before you give up and return it, please look up the person’s review and follow their instructions. Also, please note that you should never lean your whole weight on the grab bar. Although it seems very strong, that is never guaranteed. I just use it as an assist. And I am very glad to have it!!PS – It is now August 24. It still has never fallen off!!! I installed it in June.

Works well
I attached this to the wall in my one-piece stall shower and it grips well. It’s been there for several weeks now and shows no sign of loosening. Given the fact that’s it’s a suction grip, I would recommend using it more for balance than to support your full weight, although it seems strong enough to do so.

Nearly 18 Months and Still Holding Well
Update no. 2 on 5/16/2024: I’m very pleased with the durability of this bar. I’ve now had it in our shower for 18 months (as of next week), and I can count only 4 times that it has fallen off the wall. Three of those occasions were after I had cleaned the shower surround and, I think, I’d not replaced it firmly. The last time was because I needed to clean the shower surround (my bad). The springs, as far as I can tell, are holding up well and help to maintain a good suction. The last bar purchased for my loved one was from a different manufacturer and had only lasted about a year; it was not maintaining strong suction and falling off the wall multiple times a week. This bar, by comparison, has outperformed our experience with other suction bars we have purchased to date.Update 10/24/2023: We’ve had this suction grab bar for nearly a year. I think it has fallen a maximum of maybe 3 times, but those happened AFTER I had cleaned the shower surround and I think I did not firmly reattach the bar in those instances. The springs have held up well. The bar helped make showering so much easier for my loved one with neuropathy. I’ve even found it handy for myself when dealing with mild vertigo for a short spell. One additional benefit I’ve observed after a year of use is that the smaller diameter of the grip portion of the bar is well-suited for those of us with smaller hands/shorter fingers than some of the other grip bars. For balance, this has been a solidly helpful aid.I bought this to replace the Carex suction grab bar my family member had been using for about a year; the springs were no longer functioning properly and the bar kept popping off the shower surround wall even after cleaning and using alcohol wipes). I wanted something that would be relatively secure with good sturdy springs, as my family member has balance issues due to neuropathy in his feet and legs, and has trouble with his balance. Also, my family member was coming home after an extended time in the hospital and a skilled nursing facility for physical rehabilitation, and I was concerned that he might even try to use the bar to help get up and down from the shower chair. I’m happy to say that, so far, this grab bar has served my family member’s needs well, had held secure and has not loosened or popped off once in the entire time we’ve had it. I do check it regularly and have been impressed with its hold. The diameter of the bar is a bit smaller than the ones we’ve previously used, which actually makes it easier to grasp and hold. My family member has remarked several times how much he likes the 16-inch length (longer than prior bars we’ve used) and the bar’s strong hold. As we are unable to install permanent safety rails in the studs because we rent, the Safe-er-Grip Bar has served as a solid alternative.

Perfect for my needs
Most importantly- anyone needing a handle to grab if you are falling in tub – please have a plumber install one in the wall properly. That said, I love these! I needed something to steady me getting in and out of my shower tub and for minor balance while showering. These are perfect. I love that you can simply move them any time if you need to. Simple to install. Make sure to clean snd dry both the wall and the ends of the handle when installing. Good idea to check suction each time to be sure it is always 100%. Better safe than sorry and so simple to remove snd reinstall.

Works Great
After falling in my shower multiple times recently, I needed something to help me when getting in or out of the tub. This grab bar was perfect. I now have something to hold onto when I have to bend down and wash my feet as well. It has a strong suction grip on my shower wall, and I think it’s the perfect length. I’m very pleased with this purchase.

Very strong stays attached
We purchased this to take with us on vacation for my husband who is disabled. We have tried ‘suction’ grab bars before and they would not stay attached. We bought one and tried it at home, it did not work. So glad that we tried this on. It attaches very securely and stays attached even with trying to pull it down. Just press the bar into the wall and flip the latches on each end.Easy to disconnect when you need to.

Very good product…has a strong hold. So I ordered a second one for our second bathroom but didnt hold. The tiles in the second bathroom has a slight wave to it which eventually let in air and it fell off in the night. Only works on a completely flat surface. So we’re now stuck with the second one.

Stick very well on the dry wall. You have to stick only in the wall with tiles to stick properly . Love this product

This handle is just fantastic! Bigger than I imagined, and the suction caps at the end are big and powerful. I was worried it would be flimsy but it definitely isn’t flimsy. It’s made well, the rubbery suction caps are thick and soft (not thin, hard and wrinkly like others), the handle itself if strong, and it has a rubbery grip to help you hold on to. When you lower the levers to attach the handle, they pull the suction caps in quite far and it makes the handle stick to the surface really well. These little levers are strong, too, and stay down in place when you need them to. I’m confident with the results and I also like the advice in the instructions that say to check the handle occasionally to make sure it is still attached securely. This is perfect for kids and adults, the large size means it can be attached in a way to suit anyone.I bought this for my bathroom to attach to the glass surrounding the shower. I needed something for my kids to hold onto while stepping into the shower, and my teenage son has just had a hip operation so I really needed something to help make the wet areas safer. I wish I had bought one in sooner!! It’s so strong and great, it’ll definitely be put to good use for a long time.
