Great for seniors!
I bought this Panasonic cordless phone system to replace a very old Motorola cordless phone system whose base station died. When they said the Panasonic was easy to use, they weren’t wrong! The two phones that came with my system have big, legible buttons and screens. Further, the audio boost surely works great with my moderate hearing impairment. Setup was easy just by following the clear instructions in the manual that accompanied the system. The sound is loud and clear both while talking on the phone and the ring sound. The system is very reasonably priced and was delivered by Amazon in less than 24 hours from placing the order. I especially like the Favorites button which you can program with frequently called numbers. Also I like that when you store contacts in the phone, you can choose a distinct ring that helps you know who is calling. The call blocking features are also great to have with the amount of spam and junk calls on our home line.

Extra Features May Be Attractive
The extra features in this model are a nice bonus. For example, you can tag three telephone numbers, such as family members, to produce a distinctive ring and create a flashing button to indicate a call that came in earlier was from one of those special three numbers. The call-blocking feature for spam or undesired numbers is easy to set up. The phone quality is good, which is the main reason to purchase this model.

Nice Phone for Money, but Not Necessarily for Seniors
I was impressed with this phone on unpacking, and liked the compact handset and functionality. I had purchased it for my mother who has dementia and is hearing impaired. She had been trying out one of the picture phones, but the sound was totally deficient considering these are made for the elderly (check this feature out carefully if you are buying one). I thought this Panasonic phone would be simple enough to use and provide the decibel level we were missing with the picture phone. The interesting thing I learned in trying to teach her how to use this phone is that we basically need to relearn how to use a cordless landline phone, as many of us havenât used one in over 20 years now. Most elderly innately understand the original corded handset that you hold to your ear and replace in the base to disconnect. Where the cordless landline is more similar to a cell phone (which my mom had been using for the past 15 years or so), there are some key differences that are critical to the proper usage of this phone. Primarily, the phone line must be disconnected at the end of the call. That requires the user to tap the OFF button or replace the handset in the base. One party can disconnect a call on a cell phone, a landline requires both to disconnect. This can be dangerous for seniors who fail to end the call properly, and leave the line open. You canât text them and tell them itâs off the hook either! Secondly, placing a call requires two steps as opposed to one. Even the âFavoritesâ button (which ideally would be labeled) covers ALL âfavoritesâ, so requires multiple button presses to reach the desired party. I was the only Favorite designated on my momâs phone, but it still required two taps to make the connection. As an aside, even though I advised my mom that there were essentially only three buttons she needed to know, the busy display and sheer number of buttons and labels was likely overwhelming to her.Our tests with the Boost feature didnât seem to be too successful, as the only step we took that made the calls clear enough for her was using the speaker phone. I personally would have labeled the speaker phone âSpeakerâ rather than âSp Phoneâ, as I think the former is more recognizable terminology. I also think the speaker should be a major button, not a minor one in terms of size as it is so commonly used. Likewise, I think âENDâ would be clearer than âOFFâ, but these are just my opinions.Because I did not get to utilize many of the other features, I withheld a star from my rating, but that does not indicate any disappointment with the phoneâs performance. If I had a landline, I would love this phone and even debated keeping it for myself. I think it is well-designed and while not necessarily configured intuitively, it still packs a lot of functionality into one compact phone. The ability to purchase it with multiple handsets is a big plus. In summary, my only issue with the phone was its potential unsuitability for a senior, particularly one with hearing or cognitive impairment. Otherwise, itâs a good phone for the money.Footnote – Panasonic gets extra points for including a diagram on the top flap of the outer box on how to repack the phone. This packaging was an engineering feat on its own, and repacking it in the same configuration would have been impossible without the diagram!

Nice phones
A little bigger than typical phones and are easier to hold on to. Great sound quality for my old ears and I don’t even need to use the boost button. Also great range and battery life. Oerall quality, fit, finish and feel, I am very glad I picked this model.

A phone that BLOCKS unwanted callers
The phone is easy to read, easy to use and most importantly, easy to block any number. I am very tired of calls every afternoon and evening that are nuisance calls- especially politicians and organizations looking for donations. The âblock callâ button has been very handy.

confusing mess
Thought this would be a great phone with good features. WRONGGGGGG ITS SO CONFUSING TO USE and comes with no instruction manual,. caller I.D keeps announcing ” call from V” ? Have no idea what that means? and the time keeps changing or jumping up adding 4 hours to what ever time I set with time and date? then it changes to another time? so not happy with this phone buyer beware, once you find manual on line its difficult to figure out and understand cuz it has no real explanation on phone usage and problems. Im sending this junk back .

Works Awesome
If you are getting robo calls and sick of them this is for you, elderly hard of hearing this is for you,set up easy to figure out, phones need 7 hrs to charge 1st and perfect after that.I don’t understand the negative reviews. I did test the battery charge complaint I left one of them laying around for 24 hours and not on the charger,it will start telling you low battery we don’t leave our phones out laying around we keep them on the charging stations, years ago when you was done using phone you hung it up you just didn’t throw it anywhere and forget about it for 24 hours but this world has gotten lazy, but to each their own, ignore the negative reviews like I now do and try them you can always return them.ðððððð

Phones designed for the more seasoned adult
I absolutely love my new phones. The numbers are larger to press when dialing. When the phone rings a bright light flashes at the top so it’s quote easy to find if not on the cradle. It’s easy to set the volume, block unwanted spam calls and the battery lasts quite a long time before you have to recharge it. I would encourage anyone looking for a new phone to buy this one because you get 10 times the value in quality and performance than what you paid for in cost.
